Visit of the Dairy & Cheese Tasting R400 per person

This visit lasts 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours and includes:

– viewing the milking of the Goats (you have to be there between 9h00 and 9h30)

– Wall of Rememberance or the Story of Pepe Charlot

– viewing of the Cheese Making Process (Milk is turned into cheese every second day wednesday-friday and sunday, the other days the activity varies depending on the need and include draining the curd, rolling the buches, Moulding the cheeses, wrapping the cheeses)

– viewing of the maturation room where the cheese is matured for periods of time ranging from a few days to several weeks.

– tasting 6 different cheeses as we explain to you the different type of Cheese and stage of maturation

At the end you get and opportunity to buy cheeses and other cheese related products such as Boards and knives, Preserves and Goat’s milk Soaps (C Card facility)

The Visit & Tasting can be done for 1 to 12 persons at a time (Special Rates for Groups, Schools etc….)

The Fromagerie Chez Pepe is open from 9h00 until 17h00 everyday except mondays and tuesdays

Pépé has been operating in Kommetjie at the Imhoff Farm for Four years now And despite a difficult 2017/18 Season due the Drought and the severe water restriction put on all Businesses in the Cape Peninsula the Dairy Chez Pépé has survived and is looking towards a better season 2018/19. The dairy is operating in the same way as all the small fromageries in France, where the visitors can watch the milking of the goats (Between 9h00 and 9h30)and the cheese making process, the maturation room with cheese being Affiné (Matured), and have a chance to taste and to purchase both the cheese and some related products such as Cheese boards and Knives, Preserves, Goat's Milk Soap.
